Come out & make 1 large or 2 small "story plaque wall hangings in this clay class. Jenifer will help guide you through your design creation to make a piece that resonates with you. We will use templates, stamps, incising, carving & different kinds of mark making tools to express a feeling/aesthetic/design that comes from you. Jenifer likes to create her 'footpath to peace', 'cosmic astral plane', & her 'meditation stones' using this method. The wall pieces evoke calm, contemplative, sometimes otherworldly feelings that cannot be accessed through written word & needs to be expressed through line work designs to bring forth times/areas/spaces to think through & be with & sit in a world of your particular creation. Come to class ready with a few ideas, yet open to what might come out through engaging with different kinds of tools, ruminations & examples. We'll spend a little time sketching & thinking through some springboard ideas before diving in. Thoughtful bright sparks will come forth spontaneously throughout the process of making as well which always end up transferring into becoming wonderful art pieces made directly from you. Jenifer will also discuss hanging ideas, & color of glaze choice to help students determine successful showing afterwards. No former experience necessary required!
