sold - one of a kind, symbiotic ceramic wall square piece
these pieces are from a series for a collaboration show i did called ‘symbiotic’ whereby my artist friend, rachel t robertson, & i worked together for almost a year to make pieces together & separate. the ceramic pieces have each been cut, cleaned, sanded, fired twice, designed & affixed by me on to beautiful watercolor paper from a case for making in san francisco. the special emobossed watercolor paper has been mounted to a wooden square panel that sits off the wall about 3/4 of an inch. the pieces are all fairly chunky & come in a lovely combination of specific colorways we chose for the show we did together. all of my clay & glazes are non-toxic.
perfect for your art wall, office, door, nursery, reading nook, or any other room needing some lovely wall work! these are in my studio & ready to ship.
our thoughts & our artist statement on these pieces: symbiotic :: rachel & i have had a lovely, meandering, slow simmer back and forth over last spring & this summer regarding our collaboration. many wonderful conversations have ensued ranging from arcosanti in the desert, to architectural deviations to star wars inferences to fiber love… i have personally loved our connections, intersections & intertwining thoughts being fleshed out in such a tactile process. it’s exciting to riff off someone else’s language & world & it’s even better when a body of work comes forth that feels almost seamless - the pieces we worked on together came together very fluidly. our separate pieces speak to each other in their own language. here’s to hoping you can hear some of the conversations happening!
