each & every piece of these wall hangings are designed, hand cut, cleaned, fired, cleaned again, glazed & fired for the second time, & sanded once more!   the moon & ocean pieces are all fairly chunky & glazed with beautiful, full range colors; some with crackles, some with speckles & all unique.  they are strung on strong leather cord & come ready to hang.  this piece is over a foot & a 1/2 long & has several pieces of found california beach driftwood attached.  all of my glazes are non-toxic.

perfect for your art wall, office, door, nursery, garden nook, reading library, or any other room needing some lovely wall work! these are in my studio & ready to ship.

this is part of an ongoing series whereby i explore & express my love for our oceans, the solar system & our place in it. this particular piece is inspired by this brilliant quote:

"I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking.

I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.”
― John Masefield, Sea Fever

"I have sea foam in my veins, I understand the language of waves.”
― Le Testament d'Orphée
