i thoroughly enjoy making these wall hangings; as the roller coaster of life tends to go, making & designing these came out of many thoughts resonating about the hand; hands together, helping each other, holding each other up, lending a hand, clasped hands, tenderly touching, hopeful hands, supporting one another...all hands on deck right now & forever.  i hope this series speaks to you as well.  each plaque wall hanging piece is cut, cleaned, measured, sanded, stenciled & painted with original designs, fired twice, & glazed by hand. the pieces are glazed with a clear matte or glossy glaze utilizing underglazes for the color.  these come ready to hang & all of my glazes are non-toxic.

these are perfect for your art wall, office, door, bedroom, nursery, garden nook, reading library, or any other room needing some lovely wall work in your brilliant home! these are in my studio & ready to ship.

inspired by these quotes:

“One hand I extend into myself, the other toward others.”
― Dejan Stojanovic

“Or one meaning of here is “in this world, in this life, on earth. In this place or position, indicating the presence of,” or in other words, I am here. It also means to hand something to somebody—Here you are. Here, he said to her. Here both recognizes and demands recognition. I see you, or here, he said to her. In order for something to be handed over a hand must extend and a hand must receive. We must both be here in this world in this life in this place indicating the presence of.”

'won't you celebrate with me'
by lucille clifton

won't you celebrate with me
what i have shaped into
a kind of life? i had no model.
born in babylon
both nonwhite and woman
what did i see to be except myself?
i made it up
here on this bridge between
starshine and clay,
my one hand holding tight
my other hand; come celebrate
with me that everyday
something has tried to kill me
and has failed.
